'For Climbing'

A feature article about climbing in Cuba that I wrote was just published in Rock & Ice magazine. The article explores the threatened Cuban climbing scene, and the extraordinary efforts being put forth by a few Americans and Cubans to make climbing there possible. The lovely and talented Anne Skidmore took all the killer photos.
You can pick up the June 2010 issue on news stands now, or download the PDF of the article at the new and improved Cuba Climbing website.
And then you can go to Cuba and experience that magical place for yourself.
Special thanks to Tino Fiumara for lots of help reporting and writing this piece.

Go to Cuba and take a power drill to the Cuban Climbers. If this great article motivates you to go to Cuba yourself, please help us get a new drill to Cuba. Over the last decade we'll taken the climbers in Cuba three power drills. The last of those has died, and we will retrieve it and hope it can be repaired. In the meantime, we will buy a new drill, a super light Bosch 36 volt litheon drill. If you will take it to Cuba, we will have it shipped directly to you. With the battery it weighs 6.25 lbs. Add a couple of extra pounds for any accessories, and it's still less than 10 lbs. Please write to us at cubaclimbing.com, if you can help. Gracias
